FESTULOLIUM GRASS SEED

"Felina"Festulolium
Although festulolium is compared to tall fescue varieties in trials, Felina festulolium is actually a result from crossing fescue and ryegrass. Felina festulolium behaves and looks much like tall fescue, but with better palatability and forage quality. Felina festulolium has been trialed in Wisconsin where it was the highest yielding entry of any species. The success in Wisocnsin also indicates that Felina will persist in areas where winterkill can be a concern.

Felina festulolium can be used anywhere that endophyte free tall fescue is currently being used. Compared to tall fescue, Felina festulolium will give higher quality forage that is more readily consumed by livestock. For either cutting or grazing uses, Felina festulolium will perform very well.

Felina festulolium is excellent for grazing and hay. Felina is also good for silage, green chop, overseeding and frost seeding. Felina will provide 1.48 tons/acre.

Hykor Festulolium

Hykor behaves and looks like tall fescue, but with better palatability and forage quality. Forage dry matter yields are superior to many of the fescue varieties on the market. Hykor has been trialed in Wisconsin where it was among the highest yielding varieties of any species.

Hykor can be used anywhere that endophyte free tall fescue is currently being used. The leaves of Hykor are noticeably softer than many of the old fescue varieties. For that reason, Hykor will give higher quality forage that is more readily consumed by livestock. Hykor performs very well under cutting management as well as grazing.

Hykor is excellent for hay and grazing and is also good for silage, green chop, overseeding and frost seeding.

Kemal Festulolium

Kemal behaves very much like a hybrid ryegrass of perennial type, but in fact it is a festulolium resulting from the cross between italian ryegrass and meadow fescue. Compared to hybrid ryegrasses, Kemal shows good disease resistance and yielding ability, but it shows its full potential when mixed with more perennial species like tall fescue or a tall fescue type festulolium. In that case you benefit from the faster establishment and production of Kemal while allowing the tall fescue type plants to develop.

Kemal is already very popular with our customers because of its rapid establishment and high forage production, especially in its first year. Kemal can be used any time perennial ryegrass would normally be used. Kemal would be an excellent addition to a forage mixture for dairy cows, where palatability and dry matter yield are both important factors.

Kemal is excellent for grazing, hay, silage and green chop. Kemal is also good used for overseeding and frost seeding.
Seeding rate 25 lbs/acre
